It’s very durable and heat-resistant, but since it’s more porous than other types of stone, it can be prone to staining, scratching, chipping, and etching. For this reason, we don’t recommend it for high-traffic areas. It’s important to seal your countertops every six months to a year, depending on the color.

It’s denser and less porous than granite, so it’s very resistant to heat, staining, scratching, and chipping, especially when it’s properly sealed. It’s also highly resistant to UV rays.
