Granite
Granite is a beautiful natural stone that’s very durable and low maintenance. Scratch and heat-resistant, granite holds up to daily use and retains its value very well. It’s available in prefabricated as well as custom slabs. With a wide range of colors and patterns to choose from, like gray, tan, taupe, off-white, peach, and blue-gray, it’s easy to find granite that will coordinate well with your color scheme. It does need to be sealed periodically to prevent staining.
Marble
Marble is a natural stone that has been used as a building material for thousands of years, and it’s easy to see why. With its elegant veining, marble is extremely eye-catching and adds a lovely contrast to any space. Marble is relatively durable but softer than the other types of stone we carry. Because of this, it can be more sensitive to acidic cleaners and liquids, staining, and scratching. Marble should be sealed periodically to keep it in excellent condition.

Quartzite (not to be confused with quartz) is a natural stone that mimics the appearance of marble. This makes it an ideal choice for high-traffic areas where marble may not be suitable. Although it’s available in a variety of colors, the color selection is a little more limited than what you’d find with granite due to the quality and uniqueness. Quartzite holds heat well and is resistant to UV rays, making it a fabulous choice for kitchen countertops and outdoor BBQ counters. Quartzite is susceptible to staining, which is why it’s important to seal it periodically.

Quartz is an engineered stone that looks nearly identical to many varieties of natural stone. Since it’s engineered, quartz is available in a wide range of colors and patterns and is completely non-porous. This means maintenance is easy–no sealing is required! Its non-porous surface makes it naturally resistant to bacteria and staining, making quartz an ideal choice for kitchens and bathrooms. Although very durable, quartz should not be exposed to high heat, which can scorch the surface.
